Shaping Your Own Eyebrows

Groomed eyebrows can make a huge difference in the way the world views you. They make the face look clean cut and fabulous, so it is no wonder so many women – and men – have taken to the tweezers to try to rid themselves of the stray brow hairs. Yet, many individuals do not truly understand how to achieve the perfect brow shape for them and that is what this article intends to assist with.

Get the Outline Right.

The first step to producing a beautiful brow is to have it done professionally. Don’t panic. That is not to say that you have to go to the day spa or beauty salon twice a month for the rest of your life. What is does mean is that a single treatment can provide an excellent guideline to go by for trimming in the future. The trained professionals who perform eyebrow waxing have an eye for determining what shape is best for you. That means that you will not be stuck in front of the mirror trying to determine where the high point of your arch should fall. You can, instead, simply follow the line achieved by the professionals and pull the stray hairs that start to grow in. On average, it will cost you about twenty dollars to have the waxing done, and it is well worth the onetime cost to alleviate some of the stress of self grooming.

Contain Yourself .

The next important lesson to understand before going at your eyebrows is self-constraint. Don’t get carried away with the tweezing! It is easy to go too far in an attempt to even them or to reshape. It is best to follow your natural line and only pluck the hairs that don’t fit within it. Remember, you can always take a spare hair out if need be, but you can’t put it back once it’s gone. You will have to wait for it to grow back and that can be a long wait if a big mistake is made.

Line it Up.

If you are attempting to shape the brow on your own, do not rely on stencils. Though these can provide a good idea of what the shape of the brow aims to be, these are not ideal for every individual, and you may regret using one. Instead, hold an eye liner pencil to the side of the nose, where the brow meets the pencil should be where it starts. Then, holding the pencil in line with the outer edge of the iris (colored part of the eye) you can determine where the top of the arch should fall. Carefully sketch a line with the eye liner and remove hairs outside of that line only.

Prepare the Skin.

A good facial with exfoliation at home or professionally can help warm and prepare the skin for trimming. Having a face peel done once in a while is a good way to keep the face looking fresh and smooth, which will also enhance the shaped brow.

Not For You? .

If you are having trouble with tweezing or waxing, then consider laser hair removal. This is also effective around lip and chin for removing unwanted hair. The average cost of this service is fifty to ninety dollars per session and it will take, typically, two to four sessions for long lasting results, but once done, hair will be gone for a very long time, if not permanently.
